FILLERS
PREPARING FOR YOUR FILLER APPOINTMENT
Dermal fillers correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds while re-volumizing and contouring the face, hands and other areas.
The purpose of this document is to prepare you for either of these treatments.
The product is administered via an injection under your skin and into the tissue of your face or other area using a very thin gauge needle. Injection related reactions can occur, including some initial swelling, discoloration, and bruising or tenderness at the injection site. Please plan your schedule accordingly.
Two weeks prior to your treatment, avoid taking Aspirin, Advil, (or any other type of Ibuprofen), St. John’s Wort, Vitamin E & Fish Oil. Avoidance of these products may lessen your bruising. Also, eating fresh pineapple during the 48 hours before your treatment may help with bruising. The pineapple contains an enzyme, Bromelain, which aids in healing.
It is a good idea to purchase Arnica before your treatment to help prevent bruising. Our favorite formulation is Arnika Forte, Physician Formulated, as it contains a long-acting form of Arnica along with Bromelain. If you do have bruising, the Arnica will help to speed up the healing process. Arnika Forte is available at Signature Medical Spa.
DURING YOUR FILLER APPOINTMENT
Pre-treatment photos will be taken on the day of your procedure.
For fillers, you will be given an appointment time 30 minutes prior to the actual treatment time to allow for topic numbing cream application.
Ice is often used intermittently during the course of the procedure and post treatment, for comfort.
If you have any surgical facial implants, you may be prescribed an antibiotic to begin one day prior to procedure.
